Loved the happy hour here. I wish they would stop changing the menu. The waiters are always friendly and responsive. Burgers are great on Monday nite. Wish they still had their nachos the old way. Trying to get too fancy with pub food. Had dinner here with a friend and would have to say they do better with the sandwiches and bar food than with entres. They have a good selection of beers. One of our favorite neighborhood pub.

I really like this place. Food is pretty good and service is ok. Prices are a little high but the happy hour is pretty good.

We stopped by for a casual dinner in the bar section. The O's were winning their home opening game so there was a lot of fun going on. Our waitress was attentive and we tried the corned beef Poppers - 4 pieces was just enough to spit. They were pretty good and filling. As a result we couldn't finish our dinner and had to take it home. The food and service were good even though it was pretty busy on a Friday night.

Excellent place for pub-style food and beer, and perfect for a post-work happy hour or late night drink. I've mostly come to this restaurant for some draft beers, but I have tried the Rachel (sister of the Reuben... essentially a turkey reuben) and was not disappointed. Great atmosphere. Perfect for drinking in a group. Usually they allow for some late-night drinkers to hang at a table in the dining room if they prefer not to sit at a noisy bar. Outdoor seating is also available with a roof so outside is also an option. Overall, great place. Excellent Irish pub atmosphere.

My family and I go there regularly. It's convenient for us and we always have at least a pretty good experience. It's definitely a busy place at dinner time. We try to sit in the bar area, even with kids 8 and 10. The staff is friendly, clientele is well behaved for the most part. Food is good, wings are great. Good, solid place. Sunday brunch is just OK, but we've only been there twice for that.

Buffalo boneless pretty good. Asked for extra blue cheese got lots. Man n cheese super cheesy n tangy but not in a good way. Chocolate cake slice was tiny n dry n the frosting was like a 5 year olds birthday cake. Sugar n fake cocoa. Waiter seemed unattentive but he got the order right.

We frequent this place for beer and appetizers when we have time to kill. When we go, the bar area is usually crowded with some live music going on in the far wall...we skip all this mess and sit in the dining area. They never seem to mind. The beer selection is great and the food is super cheap. Because the food is priced so low and we don't order traditional entrees we leave a bigger tip to make up for it. The service is great, they are always friendly and let you stay as long as you want without hassling you.

We got a few beers and some wings on a Tuesday night. The wings are surprisingly good. We got this mango jerky wings and it is this sweet tangy sauce that coats the wings. Service was decent and it is a fairly relaxing place to just chat with friends over some drinks. We will probably be back to try other dishes another time.

Good pub style food and great service. The first two times that we ate here, I had the Kirby's Tortellini (if I remember right), which was outstanding. Unfortunately it's no longer on the menu - bring it back! Have also had the jalapeño "wings" - very good and the veggie panini - excellent. Great prices too.

Kelsey's was one of the first restaurants/pubs I visited when I moved to Maryland and have been a huge advocate ever sense. The food is great, especially their crab dip, good selection of beer on tap, prices are reasonable, the atmosphere couldn't be better, and the staff is really friendly.

Good Food . Good Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, Rachel sandwich. Drinks are expensive here. I would recommend happy hour unless you want to go broke. Corned Beef not that good.

One of my favorite spots for both food and drinks. The bartenders Chris and Brenden are just awesome! The food is always amazing- not exaggerating. Way beyond typical bar food. The roasted chicken is one of my favorites. It's always very moist and well seasoned. My boyfriend raves about their burgers and swears these burgers are the best he's ever had. I don't even like burgers and I have to admit I always steal a bite of his because they taste so great. Even the french fries, which are hand cut and homemade, are fantastic. Definitely try the Ahi Tuna appetizer. They have live music sometimes, although I never seem to make it in those nights. It's a great place to grab a beer and watch the game. There's also a dining room if you're looking for a more formal sit down kind of meal. I've come here many, many times and have never left unsatisfied. With a great beer selection, friendly staff, and a really varied menu with dinner specials and seasonal selections, it doesn't get much better than Kelsey's.

The food was excellent. We went with a small group and opted to sit in the dinning area. Once there we could not hear the people in the bar. Our group had a variety of entree's from fish to steak and everyone enjoyed their food. We had the Crab Pretzel appetizer and it was wonderfully unique. It took awhile for our server to initially come to the table, but when she did she apologized for the mix-up and was attentive to our needs from that point on. The food and beer (Any type and mixture you can imagine they have. It's a real pub.) made up for it.

Good food and drink at reasonable prices -- what more could you ask for? When my family and I try to decide where to go out for a simple dinner in HoCo, we typically roll through the list of the "usual suspects" in the Columbia/Ellicott City area, quickly dismissing the evil "Big Box" restaurants (mediocre food and long wait times at high prices) and the plethora of Asian restaurants (good food, but do we really need yet-another Korean BBQ place across the street from the three other Korean BBQ places?)...and we happily all agree on Kelsey's. The menu has familiar and comforting choices like fish and chips, roasted rosemary chicken, and Shepherd's pie that are well-executed and satisfy the soul (especially when paired with their good selection of on-tap beers; they also make a great classic gin martini). The portions are plentiful, so you likely won't have room for dessert; however, if you do, then try the bread pudding...buttery and rich...pure comfort.

Gourmet food in an Irish Pub atmosphere. Sounds crazy, but it works. The food is great and the updated menu is upscale. Sunday brunch is good...but doesn't reflect the quality of the food they serve the rest of the time. If you want to have good drinks...this is the place. No watered-down, overpriced drinks here. (that alone will make you want to come back) If you want quiet, family dining...stay in the dining room. If you want a more fun, sometimes raucous atmosphere...venture into the bar. I personally love the bar area. This is a local meeting place with a lot of regulars. At first I went there by myself a few times, but people are friendly, the bartenders looked after me and had a great time. Add the great LIVE music Thur-Sat and this is the hottest bar in Ellicott City. A great place to watch sports, gather, celebrate and meet new friends. Oh...and don't forget the food...it's pretty darn awesome!

I love this restaurant! The nachos are amazing and their other food is really good, too. They have daily specials and their staff is really friendly. It's a great place to eat at on a nice day- they have a small porch with tables. Delicious!

Chris, Thanks for the response. It is always great to have owners and managers that care about their customers. I have since been back to your establishment and have been pleased with service and of course the food. Best!

If you want drinks... come here but if you want good food... fast, skip this place. My daughter Bella had the french toast with mixed berries. The french toast was stale(which typically makes a great french toast before you cook it but it was stale after the fact) and felt like it wasn't fresh. The mixed berries had sugar added to it which I feel defeats the purpose of eating fruit especially for kids.I ordered the "crab cake" eggs Benedict which was so incredibly fishy. I wouldn't call it it a crab cake either... it was finely shredded way too old crab lightly smeared on my english muffin which normally is a a thick biscuit. I just can't imagine eating a biscuit with all that. The poached egg however was cooked perfectly but I just couldn't get over the fishy taste. The breakfast potatoes was cold and bland. Our waitress took forever to take our drink orders, our food order, our bill then to receive our receipt..Considering they were very slow during this time.... I just don't understand how they do it when it's a full house. Then again, I can't imagine this place ever being packed considering all of the cons.

Kelsey's is like a family. There's a reason why staff stays there for many years: a commitment to the restaurant that you do not find at chains or even other pubs. They are all very close, and help each other, so you get the best service they can offer. As for the food, the head chef, Chad, strives to please at all times. He is constantly updating the menu and changing things so that there is a new surprise ever time you go to dine. The part I find most amazing is his, and the kitchen staff's willingness to accommodate people like me (I can't eat gluten). Often they re-cook dishes specially so that I can enjoy them as well. It makes me feel included, and knowing that I don't just have a boring salad is another reason I enjoy eating here. I also can't say enough positive things about the creative menu specials - and the holiday celebrations! If you want something great to do on New Years Eve, their wine pairing dinner is absolutely amazing!!

Well finally Ellicott City a restaurant that is pretty good!! We have only lived here 3 months, now, and most of my experiences around town have been pretty well....bad!! I read the reviews on Kelsey's and decided to try it. We had a vast array of items: Smoky Pepper Wings, Medium Wings, Corn Crab Chowder, Pretzels, Fries, and Beer. The wings were great!! Very meaty and tasty!! The chowder was fantastic....and the Pretzel, well felt like I was on the streets of Philly. Did I mention cheap??? They have specials every night, and our tab was very reasonable. Highly recommend for bar/pub food, and ok for kids if in the dining area. We took a 7 year old. For you singles, looked like an 40's crowd at the bar. We will be back. Yeah Ellicott City...you did good!!

What can I say? I love this bar. I go here, like, a LOT. More than I care to admit. And I keep going back, because, well, it's damn good, and I have yet to find an option that I prefer. The food is definitely better than your average bar food. The kitchen takes pride in their food, and it shows in all of the delicious items made from scratch in house. There is almost always a specials menu, and I've had great experience ordering off of that as well. The staff is wonderful - on the ball, friendly, and they genuinely want to make sure you have a good experience.

Tonight we had fish tacos, meatloaf and an apple dessert. The fish tacos were a stretch for a meal but augmented with broccoli were enough. The meatloaf, a mix of several meats, tasted best using the wine sauce on the side. The dessert was mildly sweet and the ice cream soft. We were basically pleased and feel the restaurant is worth visiting again. Note - Coming in and out the front door means going through the table area outside and the cigarette smokers.

The food is outstanding, surpasses my expectations for an Irish pub every time! Some craft beer and a really friendly atmosphere. You walk in and feel like you could make new friends here but it's not a meat market. I try to come to Kelsey's whenever they have special events going on, like the beer & food pairings, because the chef comes up with really creative, delicious things that aren't on the regular menu. The staff here are always very nice. Great Sunday brunch, and large enough for big groups.

Had lunch here with son today. Excellent service from Pam who recommended the open face Roast Beef Sandwich. Son ordered the Shrimp Salad Sandwich on rye bread. We shared our entrees. Succulent Roast Beef with mushroom gravy accompanied by delicious mashed potatoes! The Shrimp were large and plentiful! Excellent and memorable lunch! Not my first time here, but always a good experience!

Great food and service every time I come here. Prices are very reasonable, great happy hour specials. A neighborhood bar feel but they make all people feel welcomed. One small complaint might be the bar seats could be more comfortable.

Wonderfully designed space with acoustics that allow normal conversation despite neighboring large party. Great salmon, salad, crab cakes and dip. Only criticism from the group was crab cakes need a bit more Old Bay. About $25 a head including good tip for good service.

Tucked away in a quiet shopping plaza, Kelsey's Irish Pub is quite a hidden gem for even the locals. The bar and restaurant were packed but the tables were turned fast too. The TVs are everywhere for the sport fans. I guess this is the Raven fan club headquarters. The foods were pleasant and enjoyable. The service is good. Among the dishes we ordered, the mussel in Guinness beer white cream sauce stood out the most. The fish and frites were quite good too. The fish was crunchy with firm flaky white meat as fresh fish should be. There are more dishes to try. Hope to swing by Kelsey's again soon.

Kelsey's has much better food than you would expect by looking at it. Everything I've seen come from the kitchen is made with quality ingredients and is well prepared. Even a standard like the meatloaf plate is nicely put together, with a hearty but not brick-dense slab of meat that is still moist and slightly grill seared before plating. The chicken pot pie is loaded with meat, veggies, and fresh sage & rosemary in a flaky crust. Beer and spirits tend toward the mainstream, but you can get yourself a surprisingly good meal that sits well above and beyond your average pub grub.

Well I decided to go after seeing the reviews and it did not let me down. I wanted a burger and fries so I called and placed my order. When I arrived it was very nice welcoming place. Seems like the local "Cheers" bar and restaurant. I was greeted by a friendly bar host and was taken care of quickly. The bacon cheeseburger was one of the best ones I've had in a while. I will be coming back.

Started the night with flat sodas and average service. The cherries in the Shirley temples were old. The place is packed! They happily accommodated our group of 8 in the bar area even though we had 3 children in the group. We came in at 6pm on a Saturday night. The atmosphere is very jovial and not a lot of "ghetto" looking crowds. Mainly upper 20's and older. Nice selection of beers. We started with the corned beef poppers, fries, and wings with attitude hot. The poppers were AWESOME! Fries were good but greasy, and the wings were good but not hot spicy. Main courses: Corned beef and cabbage-pretty good Crab cakes- ok but the Brussels were undercooked but good flavor Salmon charon- excellent and a little spicy Mayswhich- yummy! Corned beef burger- DELICIOUS! Chicken pot pie-THE BEST! There were mushrooms in it and they were the best. Mac n cheese w/grilled chicken-very cheesy and the chicken was very tasty...not dry at all. Plain noodles- can't go wrong with those. Dessert : Volcano brownie- excellent, brownie was decadent but not overly sweet Apple crisp-tart with raisins- pretty yummy. By the end of the night, service turned out to be great.

Great pub atmosphere inside, good draft and craft selection. husband ordered fish and chips, thought they were great. I had shrimp salad sandwich, good sized shrimp, little mayo and no extra filler. really good. our server, Paige, was awesome. we sat outside as it was a beautiful night. she came right over, recited the beer menu, accommodated special requests. only reason this is not 5 stars is the patio is all smoking.

The staff was friendly and the food was ok we got the special nothing on the actual menu. The reason for the 2 stars is because of the amount of fruit all over the bar area

Note that my review is only if the happy hour. I went here to grab a quick drink after work. I must admit, the happy hour deal of wings and fries for like $5 is great. I liked the soy wings. My friend got another flavor that I can't remember but she thought they were ok. There were some wines on happy hour as well. I ordered a Cabernet which was warm. Warm wine isn't the most appetizing. Given it was only like $3 or $4, I put an ice cube in it which helped. We also tried some desserts that weren't on happy hour. I must say that the orders are good portions! I may return to try the full menu. I would recommend for happy hour though wine may be warm and their isn't a huge list to choose.

Every time you go it's a different experience, the bartenders are usually fun and engaging. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. I usually go with a coworker or two just to get a couple drinks and we always have a great time. The drinks are consistently good no matter who makes them and the service is always quick.

I have not been to Kelsey's in at least 8 years, what a nice surprise. They recently remodeled and it really looks nice inside. The service was excellent, our waitress was very attentive and even brought our toddler's food out before our appetizer to keep her happy! My toddler got the child's Mac and cheese which was very good with a hint of nutmeg. She also got the chicken tenders which were freshly made with a side of BBQ. I got the lobster risotto which was creamy and well flavored. The lobster was a little chewy but it was still decent. My husband got the Dubliner burger which was very fresh, juicy and perfectly seasoned. The restrooms were also clean which is always a reflection on the overall management of a restaurant, I will definitely check Kelseys's again! Thank you for a great meal!

The dining room is not too fancy, but was almost empty; the bar, on the other hand, was packed & noisy. So, we found the gas fireplace comfy on a cold night. I ordered corned beef & cabbage with mashed potatoes. Several slabs of lean & tender beef, with great flavor, it's the best I have ever had. The beef stroganoff was very good, although the beef could have been a little more tender. Not my first visit here, they have excellent sandwiches. Curiously, you can't get a corned beef sandwich. I'll be back.

We've eaten here a few times, mostly at the choosing of people we're meeting. Parking is good and beer selection is decent, but the food hasn't been great. Fish was bland on the first trip, fries were burned on our second try, and then yesterday when with a group for viewing a World Cup game, we got undercooked chicken. Unfortunately, didn't realize how undercooked the wings were until we'd eaten a few - at first we thought just the fat wasn't rendered well enough but they were still edible, just had to pick the skin off. But then once they reached room temperature we saw a lot of blood near the bones. Wait staff was too busy to have checked on us about anything other than drink refills, so we just didn't eat the rest of the food. They never asked if anything was wrong with it when they picked up the barely eaten plate, and now today we're regretting not having spoken up - salmonella symptoms abound.

We had a prewedding dinner here in the new party room. Set up was very nice, food was wonderful (especially the crab cakes) and service attentive. They catered the wedding as well; BBQ chicken, BBQ pork sliders, and some of the best potato salad I have ever eaten!

Great food , ordered the Dubliner burger , mollies meatloaf and chicken tendeds. Dubliner burger was amazing. Juicy and delicious great flavour. Mollies meatloaf was to die for .the red wine sauce was light and delicious . the mashed potatoes were so filling with the most creamy texture . To top it all off we ordered an apple crisp for dessert. My fiance and I and our friend didn't not enjoy it in the slightest . it was quite disappointing after a fantastic meal. Overall would definitely come back.

This area of Ellicott City may seem like an endless expanse of ancient strip malls and car dealerships, but it harbors a hidden gem in Kelsey's Restaurant. I always assumed it was just a run-of-the-mill Irish pub with average bar food. It's true what they say about assuming. This past Friday I went to Kelsey's for a friend's birthday and had a delightful meal. Their menu features a number of Irish (or, probably more accurately, Americanized Irish but whatever) dishes like Shepherd's Pie and corned beef alongside pub grub with a gastronomic twist. The atmosphere is similarly sophisticated casual, with a beautiful dark wood bar and rustic light fixtures as well as TVs for sports viewing and a friendly, relaxed staff. My meal was small but very tasty. It included the old bay honey wings, a nice twist on the local classic, well flavored to accentuate the spicy and sweet. I also had a glass of Shiraz and found that their beverage menu was also quality. My partner had the prime rib sandwich. The meat was tender and savory, with enough of the fat included to add depth without being greasy. It was served on a fresh, flaky sub roll - again, a simple classic elevated with quality ingredients and expertly crafted flavors.

Kelsey's has been up and down over the 15 years I've lived in the area, but lately it's gone up significantly. The gravity tap served Guiness has always been a good reason to come here- it's served at the proper temperature and it's always perfectly poured. Not easy to find this, simple as it is. Lately the food has really improved. It's become a lot more consistent. I love the Mayswich with roast beef, onions and arugula on a brioche roll. tasty and unusual. I find myself stopping by more and more, this place is turning into a great neighborhood pub.

I love this place. I have always had great food from here. Tonight I had the corn beef burger... Amazing but the fries were a little overdone... Server had great suggestions but after our order he was hard to track down. Would have been better if he checked on us a bit more. I will keep coming back anyways!!

We've been here several times, sometimes with a group. The food is quite good, I haven't tried any drinks though, so no report on those. I've had a couple different salads, and usually make an entree of their huge nacho appetizer. The SO really likes their sandwiches. It can get pretty crowded on the weekend nights, but we haven't had to wait for a table yet, so yay. Service has been good, and it's clean. We'll be back.

We've driven by here many times and finally decided to stop in. Came with our two little boys for Sunday brunch, and was pleasantly surprised. Hostess was tremendously friendly and the waiter was great -- he got our drinks out quickly and took our order quickly to minimize the wait time for two fidgety boys. The food came out quickly, and the kitchen split the boys' pancakes order onto two plates without us having to ask (makes our lives much easier -- thank you!). All the food was great -- the boys had pancakes, I had eggs and my wife had the Rachael. Only thing I could have asked for additionally was more attentiveness to refills. Waiter never offered a refill on the coffee or tea. Looking forward to coming back again soon...and if you're looking for a great alternative to all the chain restaurants (and the Main Street restaurants with tough parking situations), we highly recommend this place...

I have been here several times and the service is consistently great. I have never had an issue here. I have gone for lunch with co-workers, brunch on a Sunday morning by myself, dinner a few times and most recently for a large office party. Even with the large crowd, service was good. Drinks came out fast and food was served efficiently. I will definitely be back to enjoy dining at Kelsey's and it will be on my Yelp Lists as well.

I like the bar area and the staff is always so nice. Love love the apple and brie sandwich, probably my favorite to get at a restaurant. Also, their crab corn chowder is amazing and I have a hard time not getting it every time I go.

I was a semi-regular patron of Kelsey's for several years when I lived in Ellicott City and southern Baltimore County -- loved their menu, bar, everything. After moving "west", I sadly got there less often. However, we recently held a surprise birthday party for a family member here, and let me tell you -- everything was fantastic! In case you don't know, Kelsey's has added on a beautiful banquet room with its own bar, restrooms, a big screen TV, a small dance floor, and is perfect for a group of 50 or so (sit-down) to probably 100 (cocktail-style). The service was outstanding (thank you, Christina & Sheryl!). The food was outstanding. I can't recommend Kelsey's more strongly. If you're looking for a venue for a party, small reception or business function, CALL KELSEY'S!

My father recommended this place saying they have great ruben sandwiches, it's location is not in an area that you would think to go to for lunch or dinner but it was a great meal. We started with the baked crab gratin, I love crab dip and this one did not disappoint. It's differnent than most places having the cheese and sherry cream sauce on the bottom and then fresh lump crab meat on top but it was great. I had the 1/2 shrimp salad sandwich with the crab and corn chowder as my main and my husband had the ruben which was excellent. The shrimp salad was very fresh and the mayo was not overbearing which was good as I am not a huge mayo person. We both enjoyed our meals and if we were in the area again we would stop by.

Kelsey's is an Irish pub housed in a strip mall with an exterior that looks like a ski chalet. But if you can get past the exterior identity crisis, it's actually a fun little Irish pub on the inside. They have small dining area if you want to escape the dull roar of the pub, that comes complete with a fireplace for the winter. The pub area has the a long dark mahogany wood pub bar surrounded by Irish pub wooden stools, and there are high top n low top tables too. Kelsey's even has a spacious outdoor seating area, but you'll have to strategically place yourself away from tables with smokers unless you like the scent of burning tobacco with your meal. Kelsey's always has a lively happy hour and late night crowd. They've got lots of beer on tap including the obligatory Guinness tap. They even have live music on the weekends, although it's a tight squeeze to get a band in the pub area with a standing room only crowd. The food ranges from traditional Irish pub fare, (Fish in Chips, Shepherds Pie, etc...) to more traditional American fare. I've never had anything bad to eat here, but the house specialty Irish Lamb Stew served in a Bread Bowl with a pint of Guinness on the side is definitely my favorite.

There is not a single bar/restaurant in MoCo that compares to this place!!!!!! Great barkeeps in Chris and Kelsey. Food outstanding and the ambiance of cool casual regular customers with newbies like myself make for a great time. It doesn't feel like a bar almost it is so unpretentious and REAL! I got the turkey brie sandwich and $2 Lites can't be beat!!!! 5 STARS all of the way and I must check out County Cork up north!!!!!

Good bar, reasonable food, big screens but not too many. Friendly staff. I always like my meals here.

I work very near Kelsey's and several of my coworkers love coming here. I suspect the convenience of the location has much to do with that. I've been more times that I usually would simply because that's where everyone wants to hang out. The food is unoffensive pub fare. Nothing stands out as particularly good (or, to be fair, it's not particularly bad either). The prices are decent and I will admit the bartenders tend to be friendly. That said, the service nearly every time I've been to Kelsey's has been abysmal. It ranges from inattentive to downright rude. A server once knocked into my shoulder as he was reaching from behind to put a full beer on the table and spilled it everywhere. I understand that happens in full bar settings from time to time. No big deal. Except that he acted like it was my fault. He brought us towels but didn't offer to clean it up. He practically ignored me for the rest of the evening. I actually had to go to the bar to get my tab. I've had someone else's check charged to my credit card. When I pointed that out to our server, I was told it would take a while to get it fixed. A week later, the charge was still on my account and I had to follow up with management to get it removed. There was no apology and, even though he took my number, he never called back with a resolution. After two days, I did notice the charge was credited back to my account.

I've been to Kelsey's several times and was never overly impressed with the food. The steamed shrimp appetizer and the fries are probably the best things I've had here. I recently had a turkey wrap, which was okay, lots of turkey a little bit of bacon, but it was a little dry. There was supposed to be a red pepper mayo, but I couldn't taste it. I've tried the fish and chips, but the batter coating on the fish was way too thick and greasy. The crab cake sandwich was decent for an Irish Pub, but I've had better. We also tried the all you can eat brunch once and we were not impressed. It was very basic and the food was just okay. I would recommend Kelsey's for grabbing some drinks and appetizers or watching the game. We've always had good service, just not crazy about the food.

I actually came across this place by accident. I had some time to kill and i needed some lunch and I went into Normandy Plaza and just happened to see Kelsey's. It's really a nice place. It wasn't very crowded when I was there (about 1:30 in the afternoon) so service at the bar was excellent. I went in on crab cake sandwich day which meant they reduced the cost of the sandwich by a couple of bucks. It was a good crab cake without a lot of filler. The bun was a normal hamburger bun, though, and could have been smaller. The fries were OK. The patrons were nice. A couple of guys struck up a conversation and we had a good ol' time until I had to leave for my appointment. I suspect this is a happenin' place at night.

Kelsey's is half a bar, half a restaurant located in Normandy Center Plaza in Ellicott City. The interior is quite nice compared to the outside strip mall facade. There is a clear divide between the two different dining rooms. When we went (Tuesday), the daily special was $2.99 beers and half off wings. We opted for Old Bay wings and the wings were surprisingly good. For entrees, SX went for the Shepard's Pie and I went for the Irish Stew over mashed potatoes. Pretty standard fare. Seems like a nice place to meet up with friends for drinks and food.

While in Cantonsville, MD for business, I went looking a little further for someplace to eat that wasn't Asian or Applebee's. Just a few miles down US-40 was Kelsey's in Ellicott City, and while my friend wasn't interested in going to a bar, I assured him it couldn't be too bad. As it turns out the bar side was pretty loud with the Orioles game on television, but the restaurant side was tame enough. For a Wednesday night, the place seemed very popular, and I enjoyed finding out why. I ordered the small version of the fish and "frites." While the fish & chips weren't out-of-this-world, it was prepared authentically and I ate it all up. My friend ordered the crab cake entree and was very pleased. Nice chunks of fresh crab meat broke off as he cleaned his plate, and he remarked the crab cakes, green beans, and mashed potatoes were all very good. Crab cakes aren't really Irish fare, but at least they apparently made them right! I found our waitress to be friendly, knowledgeable, and fairly quick, especially considering how busy the place was that night! I wish the waitress had informed me of the drink specials, but overall I was very satisfied and would definitely return another day if I was in the area again.

Kelsey's was my boyfriend's idea for our weekly lunch out and I have to say I wasn't expecting much given that everyone at his work that has eaten here has only tried the burgers... men. I was pleasantly surpised however at the variety on the menu given it has more of a pub feel. Based on another review I tried the veggie panini which was flavorful, it could have had more veggies though. Mine included mostly cheese with some spinach and mushrooms. The boy had shepherd's pie which was fantastic! Only complaint, restaurant side was not full and the host sat us at a small table directly next to a booth then promptly sat another group of ladies at a small table directly next to us when there was plenty of booths and tables to go around. Led to alot of eavesdropping and not to much conversation on our part.

Kelsey's has slightly above average pub food on their lunch menu but the service is always great! I went for lunch today and each and every employee was attentive and friendly. They have a decent beer selection and the prices are good. This is a sure bet if you are looking for a casual hangout to chill and grab a beer with friends after work.

3.5 Stars. Mom, sis, and I went here after a relaxing morning at Visual Changes Spa. Kelsey's is just down the street and what better way to wrap up several hours of pampering than to have a lobster grilled cheese and a glass of wine. The sandwich also had a little truffle oil which sent it over the edge. It was a touch greasy, but had a good amount of lobster and lots of flavor. We'll definitely check this place out again next time we're in Ellicot City :)

Went here for my friends bday. The bar area was a little crowded but if I weren't with a large group i don't think I would have thought that way. We had a really cute bartender named Jeff who was super attentive and helpful. Wednesday is 1/2 price bottle of wine night. I ordered the crab dip which wasn't the best I've ver had but was still pretty good. They serve it with a small loaf of bread. They charge an extra dollar for extra bread. My friend got the flatbread pizza thing and it looked delicious she said it was pretty good. The ambiance is great. Very friendly wait staff.

The food was ok. Our waitress seemed irritated to be working at all. A better option than fast food but nothing stood out to make me want to come back again.

Previously I have had great meals here. They have in the past had a great crab cake and an awesome Ruebon as well as a rich and flavorful Irish stew on St. patty's day. However, yesterday I ordered a burger medium rare that was cooked to well done. Very disappointing. The cole slaw was also very vinegary and did not taste fresh. The waitress did come by and ask how everything was and I showed her my overcooked burger of which I ate most of it because I was hungry. She immediately went to the kitchen to inform them of my disappointment in the meal. The manager came out and did offer us a dessert on the house. The desserts were good though they don't make them in house. On the other hand, my friend got the Turkey, apple, and Brie flat bread sandwich which she said was very good. I also got a little turned off because a fruit fly went into the beer glass so we did not finish our beer. And the rug in the dining area didn't look very clean.Unfortunately, I am not as thrilled with Kelsey's as I was before. I am not sure if it's worth another visit

Our original Living Social coupon, costing $30,value $60 was to include 2 Irish draft beers, 2 salads /soup, 2 entrées and 2? dessert. Our original coupon was purchased on April 2, 2013. We attempted to redeem it before expiration on August 6, 2013. The 2 entrées were denied after Kelsey's explained "entrée" was interpreted to mean a Reuben Sandwich. On their menu entrée had a totally different interpretation. After much discussion we were denied selecting any of the entrées listed. For the 2 Beers, 2 Reuben sandwiches and only one dessert .Our bill was credited with $45 toward the total purchase of the evening. We enjoy going to Kelsey's. The management and waiters were both courteous and polite. However, we would never use another Living Social coupon for this establishment. We have also noticed that on the Web site the original coupon has been replaced today with the proper explanation and description. The learning experience- USE LIVING SOCIAL COUPONS BEFORE THEY CHANGE !!!
